‘Who Does It Best?’ examines which European country has the most effective, most creative policies when it comes to managing three complicated issues that shape our lives: housing, childcare and drugs.
We were blown away by the speed at which we were able to raise enough money to make these podcasts.
This blog is an attempt to be as open with you as possible about the production process. On this blog we post regular updates about how our research is going and how we’re spending your money, as well as sharing photos, videos and insights from our reporting trips.
‘Who Does It Best’ is finally here!
Today, we launch the first two parts of our new series, ‘Who Does It Best?’. At a time when many people feel like their governments are not taking care of them, we wondered: how do policies actually shape our daily lives? And are there places getting it right?

Big news: Katy is having another baby! We’re still grieving that we will never get to hear her rendition of the childcare episode (because she will be busy actually doing childcare) - but this does give us an opportunity to do something we’ve been dreaming of for a long time: work with other stellar European radio people.

We did it — or rather, you did it. The Europeans’ first series produced with 100% crowdfunding, ‘Who Does It Best?’, is now fully funded and we can get to work!
